You are living under a rock if you aren’t aware of social platform ‘LinkedIn’ used by corporate world.

So, LinkedIn profile is not similar to a Facebook profile. Facebook and other social media platforms helps you connect to the outside/social world. On the other hand LinkedIn helps to connect with the corporate world which includes recruiters of big companies, various developers and other skilled professionals from almost every industry that exists. Moreover, a good LinkedIn profile may get you a highly paid job!

How? Its because your LinkedIn profile is very close to how your resume would look like. These days, a recruiter on an average takes about 6-15 secs to judge and shortlist you based on your resume. So now you know what impact can a great LinkedIn profile make in your professional career.

Here we’ll discuss few hacks which might help you create a great LinkedIn profile to get yourself a job in the VLSI domain:

1.    Create a LinkedIn profile with an attractive headline related to what job designation you are at currently.

2.    Next step would be to fill your About/Bio section in 4-5 lines describing your journey and what you are skilled at. Try to explain more about yourself in fewer lines.

3.    Add basic schooling info, all your skills required in VLSI industry and qualifications related to it. (Hack: To stand out, explain what skills and subjects/courses you’ve learnt throughout your graduation.

4.    Once you’re done with setting up your profile, start connecting with other professionals. Try not to hesitate to click CONNECT. Follow/connect to profiles that give information about placement drives/ job opportunities in good VLSI design companies. Moreover, follow you’re dream VLSI companies on LinkedIn to keep yourself updated.

5.    Great hack would be to connect directly with recruiters of big companies. To increase chances of them accepting your requests, try sending a short message of why you would want to connect with them and their company along with what expected skills you possess.

6.    Referrals happens in almost all companies, so you have a great chance to get referred if you know any employee who is working in that company. Connect with them and ask them about job openings. Maintaining such constant contacts may fetch you a great job!
